Our Origins
Slabz Bar & Grill in Marquette was born from a collaboration between Base Hospitality Group, led by owners Charlie and Josh, and Deployed Capital, headed by Tom & Ana Dolaskie, and Darrin Hubbard.
Base Hospitality, owners of the popular Ramada hotel in Marquette, sought to revitalize their space and saw an opportunity for an exciting new restaurant concept inspired by the success of Tracey’s restaurant, The Brownstone Inn and other Deployed Capital owned businesses in Munising. They approached Tom and Ana, who shared a vision to fill a gap in the local dining scene by offering bold, locally inspired cuisine at affordable prices.

A New Experience
Together, they developed Slabz Bar & Grill, with a focus on celebrating the Marquette community, including Northern Michigan University students and alumni.
The restaurant’s atmosphere and offerings reflect this deep connection to the university while aiming to shake up Marquette’s restaurant industry with fresh flavors and innovative approaches.
